It was
April 14, 1975 when a first meeting was held to form a senior’s Drop in
Centre in Zurich. The group chose the name "ZURICH GOLDEN AGERS”.
Several seniors worked very hard to convert the basement of the township
Hall into two meeting rooms, and named the rooms "The Den" and the
"Drawing Room". In early years the Den became a domain for the men to
work or play games. And the drawing room was used for social activities
and quilting parties. The den was the home of the Solo Club until
December of 2009 when things changed dramatically. Why
Join the U.S.C.O.? The U.S.C.O. is working untiringly to improve the
social, economic and recreational needs of older people and to keep
before the public eye an awareness of seniors in the community.
