Community Yard Sale & Fireman's Breakfast
Second Saturday in August ... Annual Event
Annual Event Yard Sale Humour... It was early in the morning and a lady had just opened her garage sale. Her neighbour from down the road came running past on his morning jog and stopped to look at the wares. He spotted a beautiful grandfather clock with a bargain price of just $50. So he told his neighbour he'd buy it. "Will you be returning with your pickup truck to take it home?" the lady asked. "Oh, no," he replied." I'm strong and only live three houses down. I'll just carry it." He squatted down and hoisted the heavy clock on to his back, then walked slowly toward his home. Suddenly a youngster on a skateboard came roaring in the opposite direction and collided with the man. Bang! Clang! Crack! The clock crashed to the ground. "Can't you watch where you're going?" the man yelled at the youngster. The youngster replied, "Can't you wear a wristwatch like everyone else?"

n.
A garage sale (also known as a yard sale or rummage sale) is an informal, irregularly scheduled marketplace of used household goods. Typically the items will be unwanted items from the household conducting the sale. The seller displays their wares to the public, usually in a garage or in their yard. Staples of garage sales include old clothing, books, toys, and board games. Larger items like furniture and occasionally appliances are also sold. Garage sales occur most frequently in suburban areas, on good weather weekends, primarily on Saturday mornings. Such sales have often been known to attract people who are searching for bargains or for rare and unusual items. Some people buy goods from these sales to restore them for resale.
