The mission of the Zurich and District Chamber of Commerce is to serve as the Voice of Business, to promote and enhance economic prosperity and quality of life in Zurich and District.

GOALS:

1. To create and sustain reinforcing relationships among businesses and between business and the community.

2. To participate in the development of public policy as it affects economic growth and development of the area.

3. To effectively express the views of the business community to the appropriate levels of government, either directly or indirectly, i.e. via the Ontario Chamber of Commerce, and other associations.

4. To promote private enterprise, business excellence and individual achievement.

5. To develop a strong membership base. This will provide the resources necessary to ensure a proper level of membership services and foster member involvement in the community.

Chamber Involvements/Achievements/Activities

Representation on Bluewater Rest Home, Bluewater Community Development Foundation, Bank Committee, Medical Committee, Bean Festival. Direct contact with our new council, represented by Marg Deichert.

Work closely with other committees such as Lions, Prosperity Committee, Zurich Ag Society, Zurich Seniors Groups, Bayfield & Area Chamber of Commerce, Bayfield Ratepayers’ Association, Bluewater Shoreline Residents’ Association, Hensall Community Development Action Committee, and St. Joseph Historical Society.

Beautify our streets with flowers and benches.

We have been/are a driving force for a new arena, better ambulance service, upgrades to Bluewater Rest Home, keeping our schools open, bringing a pharmacy to town, keeping our medical center open, and finding a new financial institution, as well as upgrades to our sewer and water systems.
